In 2024, Inkbound Stationery launched a transformative initiative called iCare. This program is a direct response to the growing need for accessible education resources for underprivileged children across India, regardless of their gender, social background, or identity.
Inkbound’s mission through iCare is to contribute directly to the development of schools, focusing on marginalized groups such as children from underprivileged backgrounds, females, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
This inclusive and holistic approach aims to bridge the educational divide, ensuring that every student—whether male, female, or part of the LGBTQIA+ community—has access to essential tools that foster learning, creativity, and growth.
Inkbound understands that a proper education, paired with the right resources, has the potential to transform lives. The iCare initiative aligns with this vision by not only supplying much-needed stationery and educational materials to schools but also fostering an inclusive environment for all students.
In India, where socioeconomic disparities and cultural biases often limit access to education, iCare works to create opportunities for every child. Whether they are in remote villages or urban slums, children will receive the tools they need to learn and excel, breaking through barriers traditionally imposed by society.
iCare provides students with free stationery kits, which include notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and other essential materials that many students in underprivileged areas often lack. This ensures that no child is left behind simply because they cannot afford basic school supplies.
Special efforts are made to create opportunities for girls, empowering them with the right resources to build their futures. iCare works closely with communities to break down the societal barriers that discourage girls from attending school, particularly in rural areas.
The initiative is also dedicated to promoting education for the LGBTQIA+ community, recognizing that many LGBTQIA+ individuals face discrimination and are often denied equal opportunities. By creating an inclusive environment in schools and providing educational materials, Inkbound aims to reduce stigma and encourage acceptance, fostering a positive learning atmosphere for LGBTQIA+ children.
iCare doesn’t only focus on students but extends its support to teachers and schools as well. Teacher training programs are conducted to ensure educators are equipped to handle diverse classrooms, with an emphasis on inclusivity, sensitivity, and gender-neutral practices.
iCare believes in involving the local communities in its mission. Workshops, training, and awareness campaigns are held to ensure that the surrounding communities understand the importance of education, especially for marginalized groups.
iCare partners with NGOs, local government bodies, and other stakeholders to further strengthen the impact of its efforts. Through collaborations, the program can reach more schools and students, especially in rural and remote areas.
Inkbound is committed to growing the reach of iCare in the coming years. By 2026, the program aims to support thousands of students across India, with a particular focus on underdeveloped regions.
The initiative plans to expand by integrating digital learning resources, such as e-learning platforms and tools, to enhance the educational experience for children who might have limited access to advanced technology.
